Everything you want to know
Honest answers to the questions every client asks before reaching out. If yours isn't here, just ask us directly.
Process
How do we get started?
Book a free 30-minute discovery call. We'll ask about your goals, timeline, and budget - no sales pitch, just an honest conversation. If there's a fit, we send a proposal within 48 hours.
How long does a typical project take?
A landing page takes 1-2 weeks. A full mobile app typically takes 6-16 weeks depending on complexity. A large SaaS platform or enterprise system is 3-6 months. We give you a detailed milestone-based timeline before any work begins.
What does your process look like week to week?
Week 1 is discovery and scoping. Weeks 2-3 are design and architecture. From week 4 onward, we ship in 2-week sprints with a live demo every fortnight. You always know what we're building next and why.
Do you work with clients outside India?
Yes. Most of our clients are in the US, UK, Canada, UAE, and Australia. We're async-first and schedule overlap calls around your timezone. No project has ever been delayed because of geography.
Do you sign NDAs?
Absolutely. We sign NDAs before any detailed project discussions. Your ideas, code, and business details are completely confidential.
Pricing
How much does a project cost?
A professional website starts from $1,500. A mobile app starts from $8,000. A cloud migration or AI system starts from $12,000. Every project is scoped individually - we send a detailed, fixed-price proposal so there are no surprise invoices.
Do you charge hourly or fixed price?
We prefer fixed-price milestones for predictability. For ongoing retainers (maintenance, feature additions), we use a monthly retainer model with a defined scope. We never send unexpected invoices.
What's the payment structure?
Typically 30% upfront, 40% at mid-project milestone, 30% on delivery. For larger projects, we split into smaller milestone payments aligned to sprint deliverables. We accept wire transfer, Stripe, and crypto.
Do you offer post-launch support?
Yes. We offer 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month support retainers covering bug fixes, security patches, server monitoring, and minor feature updates. Most clients stay with us on retainer - our retention rate is 98%.
Can we start small and expand?
That's our preferred way to work. Many clients start with an MVP or a single feature, validate it with real users, then expand into a full product. We design for growth from day one.
Technical
What technologies do you use?
On the frontend: React, Next.js, Vue, Flutter, React Native. Backend: Node.js, Python, Go. Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis. Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure. AI: OpenAI, LangChain, PyTorch. We choose the best tool for your project, not what's trendy.
Can you take over an existing project?
Yes, and we do this regularly. We start with a technical audit to understand the codebase quality, architecture decisions, and risks. Then we give you an honest assessment and a clear plan to improve or extend it.
Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?
Completely. We manage the full submission process: developer account setup, app metadata, screenshots, privacy policies, content ratings, review responses, and staged rollouts. Most of our apps go live without a rejection.
What happens if there's a bug after launch?
All projects include a 30-day post-launch warranty. Any bugs that exist in delivered code are fixed at no charge. After 30 days, bugs are covered by your support retainer or billed at a reduced hourly rate.
Do you handle cloud infrastructure and hosting?
Yes. We set up and manage your cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure. We can also deploy to Vercel, Railway, or any provider you prefer. Infrastructure is always documented and handed to you completely.
Company
How are you different from a freelancer?
A freelancer is one person with one skill. We're a full-stack team covering frontend, mobile, backend, cloud, design, and QA. When your React dev is sick, your project still ships. We also provide project management, documentation, and strategic advice - not just code.
How are you different from a large agency?
Large agencies assign junior developers after the pitch. At MindGrid Labs, the same senior engineers who scope your project are the ones who build it. No bait-and-switch, no offshore hand-off, no account managers between you and the people writing code.
Who will actually be working on my project?
You'll be assigned a dedicated team of 2-4 engineers based on your project needs. You'll know everyone by name, have their contact, and interact with them directly in weekly demos and async updates.
Do you have experience in my industry?
We've shipped projects in FinTech, EdTech, Healthcare, Gaming, Retail, SaaS, and more. Industry experience means we ask the right questions early - about compliance, user behavior, and edge cases - before they become expensive problems.
Do you offer equity-for-work arrangements?
In select cases for early-stage startups with strong traction, we consider equity arrangements. This requires a conversation, a look at the cap table, and mutual alignment on timelines. Reach out and let's talk.
